POETRY

The old nursery rhyme says Humpty-Dumpty sat on a wall.
Humpty-Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses and all the king's men
Couldn't put Humpty-Dumpty together again.
But God could!
He's God and He is good!
He is God and He is grand!
What man can't do, God can!
Adam and Eve in the garden that day
Had a great fall, to sin gave way.
And nothing they could do, nothing they could say
Could give them back what they lost that day.
But God could!
He's God and He is good!
He is God and He is grand!
What man can't do, God can!
God clothed Adam and Eve in the garden you see.
A picture of the day Christ would come and shed His blood on Calvary.
Man could never save himself, that we need to know.
No matter what he does, no matter where he goes.
But God can!
He's God and He is good!
He is God and He is grand!
What man can't do, God can!
If you've never received Jesus, you are lost today.
Please repent of your sins and turn to Jesus, He'll take your sins away.
You can know your sins are forgiven, what joy my friend.
You can know Heaven will be your home one day, life will never end.
That's what God can do
And He'll do it for you!
He is God and he is grand!
What man can't do, God can!

THE DAY GOLIATH PAID THE AWFUL PRICE
by Gene Minix
Goliath stood tall and proud.
For sure, he wasn't coy.
He said, I'm looking for men
And they are sending just a boy.
I'm gonna whip you , boy.
Gonna knock you right out of your shoes.
And the army of Israel will be our slaves
When I get through with you.
But David knew God was on his side.
And he reached down for the stones.
Goliath was a great big fellow
But David was not alone.
I've got God on my side, David said.
He's right here with me.
Against Him you are nothing, Goliath.
Believe me, you will soon see.
David took one stone.
Put it in his sling that day.
He knew it would find it's target.
This giant he would slay.
Guided by Almighty God
The stone hit it's mark sound.
And the earth trembled that day
As Goliath fell to the ground.
Yes, God is God. He is Almighty.
And He's always with His own.
That day Goliath paid the awful price
For the seeds he'd sown.

POETRY SPEAKS TO THE HEART
YOU ARE IMPORTANT,
LIFE
We'll Waltz Through Life Together
by Gene Minix
The sky is our ballroom.
The stars are the ballroom lights.
Moon beams shine down on us
As we waltz through the night.
The nightingales are our orchestra.
Playing sweetly, "Oh, hold me so tight".
You and I, lost in each other
We waltz through the night.
You still look like sweet eighteen
And I still want to hold you tight.
As the moonbeams dance upon us
And we waltz through the night.
And as the morning light breaks through
And the sunbeams do shine.
Promise me that every dance you dance
Will be yours and mine.
So put your head on my shoulder
As the nightingales play our song.
And we'll waltz through life together
With a love so beautiful and strong.

You are the potter
And I am the clay.
Fix me, Jesus
Mold and make me your way.
I'm far from perfect,
Lord, that I know.
Sometimes I break your heart
But you still love me so.
I'm really trying, Lord.
I'm just human I guess.
Keep on fixing me, Jesus.
You know what is best.
And one of these days,
Lord, keep fixing me.
I'll stand before you
My robe white and wrinkle free.
Mold me and make me.
Lord fix me day by day.
I'm thankful you are the potter
And I'm just the clay.

I stood at my window
And watched winds and rains storm sent.
The rain beat upon my window
And in the yard, the trees bent.
I watched them as they yielded
To the storm God allowed that day.
Accepting the storm that came,
They would bend and sway.
I thought how wise man is
When he bends to the storms of life.
Knowing God makes no mistake
And no man grows where there is no strife.
Surely it is always for a reason
That God allows the storms to come.
And man is wise to bend and accept
What God in His love sends along.
It is with the storms of life
That the trees grow tall and strong.
Let us understand it is for a reason
When God allows the storms to come along.
And when the winds of life blow,
And the strong and tough storms assail
Let us even then give God thanks as we grow
Sure and strong that we may never fail.
